Carlin Peas | Winter Peas are a small, hard brown pea known by many other names, such as; Maple Peas, Pigeon Peas, Brown Peas. It is one of the main pluses of the region and used in local food such as thukpa, sku and chu-tagi.
They are naturally low in fat yet offer 23g per 100g of both protein and fibre. They contain a wide range of nutrients, notably manganese, molybdenum and the B group of vitamins, especially B1.
