What is a social enterprise?

Social enterprises are revenue-generating businesses with a difference. Whether operated by a nonprofit organization or by a for-profit company, a social enterprise has two goals: to achieve social, cultural, community economic and/or environmental outcomes; and, to earn revenue. What the organization does with the revenue determines whether it is a nonprofit or for-profit. Either way strives to improve outcomes for people and planet! 

 

Why be a social enterprise and not just a ‘regular’ business?

Ladakh Basket works to educate consumers to shun products produced by exploitation in favor of those produced responsibly. We educate ourselves, our agricultural partners and our customers on transparency in our supply chains, paying fair market rate to our farming partners and delivering premium organic products that we’re proud to stand by. 

 

What’s the difference between a tea and a tisane?

Tea is from the leaves of just one plant, the Camellia sinensis, a hardy evergreen shrub found across Asia. The leaves are brewed and depended on how the tea is processed, the result is black tea, green tea or white tea. These teas contain caffeine. Tisanes (pronounced “ti-zahn”) are infusions made from leaves, bark, roots, berries, seeds and spices. Common tisanes include mint, Chamomile, verbena and rooibos. Tisanes contain no caffeine, so they are ideal for when you want to chill out and relax or for just before bed. 

Shipping and Delivery

How much do I have to pay for shipping and delivery?

A flat rate of INR 150.00 will be charged for shipping all over India. Shipping to outside of India varies. Reach out to us to know the shipping cost outside of India.

 

Do you ship to areas outside of India?

Yes, we do ship outside of India. The shipping cost depends upon the destination country and the weight of the order. Reach out to us to know the shipping cost outside of India.

 

How long will it take for an order to arrive?

Currently, it will take 7-10 days business days for your orders to arrive.

 

Can I arrange for a pickup?

We are available for pickups. Please get in touch with us to schedule the pickups.

 

What’s your shipping policy for international orders?

There may be additional costs under customs, which refers to the duties, fees or taxes levied on goods transported from one country to another. When your goods arrive at the border, the applicable customs duties, fees or taxes will be assessed and must be paid before they can be delivered. Based upon the quantity or value of what you are shipping, and where you are shipping to, there may be no costs at all. 

Ladakh Basket is not responsible for any customs and taxes applied to your order. All fees imposed during or after shipping are the responsibility of the customer (tariffs, taxes, etc.)

 

I want to change my shipping address. How do I do that?

You can email us at order@ladakhbasket.com with your order details and your new shipping address.

How do I place an order?

Step 1. Add items to your cart/basket

Step 2. Once you are done adding items, click on the cart/basket button to check out

Step 3. It will show you all items you have added to your cart/basket and then click proceed to checkout

Step 4. Fill in the billing and shipping address and place your order

Step 5. Pay with available modes and once you make your payment your order will be confirmed

 

How will I know if my order has been received?

You will receive a confirmation email once your order is successfully placed. Once your order is shipped you will receive a tracking number to track your order.

 

How do I modify my order?

Before the item has been shipped, send us an email at order@ladakhbasket.com with your order details. Please send your request within 2 days once your order is placed.

 

Do you accept wholesale orders?

Yes, we do accept wholesale orders. Visit our contact page or write to us at online@ladakhbasket.com  for wholesale orders.

Returns and Exchanges

What do I do if my item is damaged?

We allow the return of products that are damaged in shipping. Depending upon the product you will be either fully or partially refunded, or a new product will be shipped without any cost.

 

I want to exchange my order for a different item after it’s been shipped, is that possible?

Exchanges are allowed but the buyer will have to pay the deficiency should the new item cost more than the original payment made. For items that cost less than the amount paid, the excess payment will be refunded. Additional shipping costs will be shouldered by the buyer.
